STUDENTS

• WANTED Graphic Designers- Are you creative and gifted in 2D graphic design?  Do you need to beef up our brag sheet for college applications?  The Magnet Coordinators are looking for students who want to help design new brochures to advertise all three of our Magnet programs.  Please see Ms. Park in the Magnet Office for more details.  (Ms. Park)

• Bees on Campus- Beware of the bees lurking around your food!  Stash your trash as soon as you finish eating.  We can’t have pesticides on campus, but we will take care of the problem. (Dr. Vanderbok)

• Initial Planning Sheets– reminder that your Initial planning sheets are due to your evaluating administrator by   October 9, 2009. If you have a question regarding the procedure or form please see your administrator.

• Perfect Attendance Rewards- Teacher’s please continue to encourage your students to have perfect attendance.  The school wide attendance rate is currently at 98% - we want to keep our attendance rate high all year.  In an effort to encourage students -  we have begun a perfect attendance (no absences) will receive an invitation to a special event (music, food, etc) at the end of the month. (Ms. Hogan)

• Textbooks- Williams is not scheduled to visit in October.  They may be coming in November or December.  Please make sure all of your students have a textbook. (Mr. Chong)

SENIORS

• UC Personal Statement workshop for all seniors- Are you having difficulty writing your personal statement for UC or private university applications?  Advising coordinator for the Educational Talent Search Program, Ms. Palacio, will be providing a personal statement workshop on October 8^th in the library for periods 2,3, & 4 for all seniors.  To attend this workshop you need to sign-up in the College Office. (Ms. Palacio-Ms. Charlton)

• Senior Board Meetings-  Members of Senior Board will meet regularly on Thursdays at lunch in Room 509. (Ms. Carr)

• Senior Parent Night-  Senior Parent Night will be held on Thursday October 22, 2009 from 6:30pm-9:00pm.  Come hear all about your senior year and the fun festivities planned for the Class of 2010.  Great raffle prizes- be the 1^st to get great Senior stuff!! (Ms. Carr)

• Honors Research Lab-  There will be weekly meetings every Wednesdays beginning Oct. 7 after school in Rm. 220 to discuss the progress of research papers and projects.  These meetings are mandatory and will be part of your participation grade.   Come next Wednesday 10/7 to receive more details. (Mrs. T. Kim)
