There may come a time when a parent feels it is necessary to have their student leave the school before the scheduled final bell. In order to do this, the parent or guardian must obtain a 4" x 6" white "ABSENT CARD" from the Magnet Office. It must be properly filled out and signed by the parent or legal guardian and submitted to the Magnet Office prior to 7:50AM on the day for which the early leave is being requested. All cards submitted requesting an early leave, will be verified by a phone call to the parent or guardian who signed the card. If for any reason the card is not submitted, or the decision to have the student leave early occurs on the same day, a parent or guardian must come in person to the Magnet Office with a valid photo identification in order for the school to release the student early.
For security reasons and the student’s safety, we do not accept phone calls requesting an early leave. Please be advised, that any parent or legal guardian/representative who comes to check out a student early from school will be asked to produce a legal photo ID and must also be listed on the school "Emergency Card" prior to student being released to their custody.
