Magnet Schools Administration » Magnet & School Policies » Late Bus Policy
Late buses will be provided for all Magnet students every day, except Professional Development days, throughout the school year. These buses are provided by the Integration Office to allow magnet students to participate in after-school activities. All late buses will leave the school site at 6 pm, but students must be on the bus by 5:45pm. In order to take the late bus, you must be a Van Nuys High School magnet student already assigned transportation. You must obtain a temporary or permanent late bus pass from the Magnet Office. You are eligible to receive a late bus pass if you are involved in any supervised after-school program. This can include, but not limited to: athletic/team sports, organized school club activities, after-school tutoring, play production, etc. You must also, as school policy already dictates, carry and be able to produce a valid current official school Identification Card.
All requests for temporary late bus passes must be submitted to the Magnet Office prior to 10:30 am on the date for which they are being requested. After this deadline, they will not be issued. They will only be issued during nutrition and lunch. Please note that there will be no late bus provided on Professional Development Days when students are dismissed at 12:57PM
YOU MAY NOT:
- bring a friend along if they do not meet the above criteria.
- loan your identification to another student to allow them to use the late bus representing themselves as you.
- use the bus without having obtained a pass.
All students should be advised that the school district views the use of the bus as a privilege and that any misconduct or abuse of this privilege can result in suspension or cancellation of your bus privilege in the Magnet Program. |
